DIY Kit information - Multiregion DVD Upgrades for Pioneer, panasonic, Sony, marantz, and many more machines from www.multiregionupgrades.com
Here you`ll find information about the various DIY options we offer.

We offer many of our upgrades as DIY kits. These range in complexity, from simple to use single button to press "chipped" service remotes (most modern machines), to full firmware chip replacements (applies to older machines only). Where available, DIY kits are shown as a green tick under the "DIY" option on the product menu for each of the players we support. Further information can be found below for the different types of upgrades we offer.

DISK
The simplest solution! This modification uses a firmware disc that you purchase, to keep. Very simple to use, just pop it in your machine, and follow the supplied instructions. You do NOT have to return this item to us after use, it is yours to keep.

SERVICE REMOTE
This modification uses a special hardware device that sends factory codes to your player without the need of a chip in your player. Very simple to use, our service remotes are custom programmed so that you only have to press one key to modifiy your player. They are NOT "chipped remotes" offered elsewhere limited to a 1 time use then discarded! With these solutions, if you make a mistake during the modification, you must then obtain another chip or remote from the supplier (often at additional cost!). THIS IS NOT REQUIRED WITH OUR SOLUTIONS!

If you make a mistake during modification with our service remotes, no problem. Simply unplug the machine, plug it back in, and start again! No waiting for replacement chips or remotes, nor additional "hidden" costs! You could even modify a friends identical model and split the costs of the rental service between you! The only thing we ask if you return the unit to us by the date supplied on your modification instructions (usually a 14 day period from dispatch). If you wish to purchase a service disc to keep, rather then using the rental service (i.e you are a dealer or a shop), see our trade section on this website.

SERVICE DISK
Basically as above, but instead of a remote control, this modification delivers the modification commands via a special firmware disc. Very simple to use, just follow the provided instructions.

Again, supplied as a rental tool, to be returned to us by the date supplied on your modification instructions (usually 14 days from dispatch). If you wish to purchase a service disc to keep, rather then using the rental service (i.e you are a dealer or a shop), see our trade section on this website.

HDD SERVICE KIT
Basically a combination of the above SERVICE DISC and SERVICE REMOTE. Required for the tricker machines to modify, but still simple to use.

Again, supplied as a rental tool, to be returned to us by the date supplied on your modification instructions (usually 14 days from dispatch). If you wish to purchase a HDD service kit to keep, rather then using the rental service (i.e you are a dealer or a shop), see our trade section on this website.

SERVICE KIT
Comprises a special "Black Box" that plugs into a rear socket of your DVD player to re-program your machine. Simple to use, again, comes with easy to follow instructions.

Supplied as a rental tool, to be returned to us by the date supplied on your modification instructions (usually 14 days from dispatch). If you wish to purchase a service kit to keep, rather then using the rental service (i.e you are a dealer or a shop), see our trade section on this website.

PC SERVICE KIT
Comprises a special "Black Box" that plugs into a rear socket of your DVD player and the serial port of your PC to re-program your machine. Probably the hardest to use modification, we recommend you use our fitted service for these modifications.

Supplied as a rental tool, to be returned to us by the date supplied on your modification instructions (usually 14 days from dispatch). If you wish to purchase a PC service kit to keep, rather then using the rental service (i.e you are a dealer or a shop), see our trade section on this website.

CHIP
The old way of hacking machines. You need to open your unit and either replace, or add (or on some machines, both!) a chip. Involves soldering, and on most machines, specialist SMT experiance and tools. We recommend you use our fitted service for these modifications. Supplied as DIY kit, you fit these at your own risk and risk damageing or killing your player if you do not have the required experiance.
